16 Crystal Court, Camira
This gorgeous, newly renovated property will be the perfect home for first home buyers or a young family. It’s located in Camira, a leafy suburb known for its large blocks of land, about 25km from Brisbane CBD.
Story Behind the Sale
This home had large living spaces which (if left unstaged) might have appeared plain and cold. We wanted to make them more homely, which is why we brought in lots of different textures to soften up the look. We also wanted to do something different for the Agent, having styled her previous property in a plush coastal design.
Result of the sale: Fun fact, we were going to say that this house has only hit the market recently, but as we checked the real estate listing this morning, it said it was Under Offer! It’s hard to keep up with the quick the sales these days! 🙂
Dining Area
Grey is a cool neutral colour that adds a modern, sophisticated edge to any interior. Because the surrounding area was less residential, we didn’t want to make it too contemporary (like we would in a city unit or in a more built-in suburb). That’s why we’ve added more traditional and natural elements, cue the dark timber and horse prints. These are from a local artist Megan E and it’s our little addition to supporting local businesses.
Living Room
In colour psychology, grey represents neutrality and balance, which likely comes from being the shade between white and black. With such a broad spectrum of different shades of grey out there (no pun intended, we didn’t read the book), layering the grey with other grey tones is guaranteed to create a refined look. As you can see, we’ve alternated the hues from soft greys to dramatic dark grey, with a feature houndstooth-patterned ottoman.
Master Bedroom
Continuing the grey colour scheme from the living areas through to the master bed created a cohesive feel. We’ve added pops of forest green – a sophisticated colour associated with masculinity and wealth, which in combination with the plush cushions contributed to the opulent look. Alternating textures across the linen, rug and embellishments on the artwork added a lot of visual interest to the overall look.
