Story Behind the Sale
This home was vacant when we were tasked to stage it, giving us complete freedom when it came to our furniture selections and design choices. The lead stylist for this job, Silvana, implemented neutral styling throughout to brighten the home before including pops of colour to add character, spark interest and evoke intrigue. She did a fantastic job leaning into the home’s modern features, tying all the rooms together seamlessly whilst appealing to a broader target market – a necessity given the location of the home.
Result of the sale: SOLD for $850,000 just one month after being listed – a fantastic outcome!
Living, Dining and Kitchen Areas
In this home, the kitchen was fitted out with dark wooden cupboards and a white bench top, so to tie in with the existing features, we brought in lighter coloured rattan and wooden furniture items in the form of occasional chairs, a floor lamp, a coffee table and dining chairs. You’ll also see both the furnishings and styling selections embrace a white colour palette.
This not only compliments the white bench top, but also aims to brighten the room by balancing out the kitchen’s darker coloured fixtures. Silvana then added in a pop of light pink, as well as elements of greenery, which further contributed to achieving a light and airy feel throughout the home.
Bedrooms and Study
In this Northgate home, we chose to style a master bedroom, a secondary bedroom, and then opted to turn the third bedroom into a study space in order to appeal to a larger target market and show possible buyers the home’s potential and versatility.
Carrying the wooden theme throughout the home, you’ll see these three rooms all have darker wooden floors. As such, to ensure each area looked spacious and bright, Silvana brought in lots of whites, paired with strokes of colour to liven up each space. To attract more potential buyers, Sil stuck with a lighter coloured theme in the master bedroom, but then chose darker accessories in the second bedroom for contrast and to help a larger audience fall in love with the home.
Similar to the furniture choices in the living area, we brought in lots of wooden furnishings in the study to tie in with the home’s features, and accompanied these with whites, blacks and small amounts of colour to add interest.
