F.A.Qs about Home Staging
Are you planning on selling your house soon and thinking about getting your home staged but have some questions about the process? If so, then you’re in the right place! Below we’ve compiled a list of our five most frequently asked questions we receive here at Foxy Home Staging. From costs to timing, the process and everything in between, we’ve covered it all in this article!
What is the average cost of home staging?
Pricing depends on a wide range of factors, including the size of the house and the number of bedrooms and living rooms you’d like styled. Prices also vary depending on whether we’re staging a vacant house or integrating our styling with your furniture, among other things. For reference, here is a rough price guide that we follow here at Foxy:
- 1 bedroom unit (1 living, 1 outdoor): $2,300
- 2 bedroom unit (1 living, 1 outdoor): $2,600
- 3 bedroom unit (1 living, 1 outdoor): $3,000
- 3 bedroom house (1 living, 1 outdoor): $3,000 – $3,500
- 4 bedroom house (2 living, 1 outdoor): $4,200 – $4,700
- 5 bedroom house (3 living, 2 outdoor): $5,500 – $6,000
Please note these prices are a guide only, so the quote you receive is personalised to your home and situation. It’s also worth noting that other home staging companies price their services differently, so be sure to do your homework before making a decision! Here at Foxy, we own all the furniture and accessories we use, which cuts out the middleman cost of furniture hire, therefore lowering the cost for you!
What happens after I’ve accepted the quote?
So our consultation stylist has popped over to see you, we’ve sent you a quote and you’ve decided to go ahead with home staging! Yay! We’re so excited to hear that and are looking forward to helping you out. So, what’s next in the process?
After you’ve confirmed that you’re wanting to go ahead, we’re going to organise an install date with you so our team can pop over and stage your home. We typically recommend you give us a call to book in your install 1-2 weeks before you want it done!
You can learn more about the whole process by watching the video to the right (or below on a mobile device).
What happens with bed linen?
This is a very common question we get from clients who will still be residing in the house after we stage it. For hygiene reasons, if you’re going to be sleeping in the beds after we’ve styled them, we will either use the linen that’s already on your bed if it’s suitable or we’ll buy brand new linen for you and you get to keep it at the end of the process.
Can I use your furniture if I’m living in the home?
Yes, you’re very welcome to use the furniture. On the day of your install our stylists will run through some tips on how you can keep the house presentable for open homes.
How long is the hire period?
If you decide to get your home staged, you may be wondering how long the furniture and decor stays in your house. We currently have an 8 week hire period – you pay for the first 4 weeks of hire, and the final 4 weeks are complimentary. If your house or unit doesn’t sell in that time, we do offer extensions. These are not often needed as most places sell before the 8 weeks is up, but if you do need more time, simply give us a call and we can arrange an extension to your hire period.
