“My agent organised the quote. So who actually pays for the staging?”
The seller does, on around 99% of our jobs. You sign the terms and conditions and you pay the invoice, even when your agent recommended us, booked the consultation and passed on the quote.
If money is tight until settlement, you don’t have to pay it all upfront. We offer payment terms with a 20% deposit before install and the balance 30 days later. Other stagers may offer something similar, so ask whether they have a stage now, pay later option. You can also pay at settlement through a third-party provider your agent can set up.
We’ve staged more than 8,000 homes across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Here’s how payment works with us, and what to check before you book.

Rarely, and it isn’t something to plan around.
What the agent does varies from office to office. Some agents stay the main point of contact the whole way through. They meet the stylist on site, pass the quote on to you and keep the install lined up with photo day. Others make the introduction and step back, and you deal with us directly from there.
Either way, the agreement is between you and us. Very occasionally an agent contributes to the bill, but it’s uncommon enough that you should budget for the full amount yourself.

Because the staging is part of marketing your home for sale. It’s your property and your result, so the agreement is with you.
Your agent may recommend styling and organise the quote, but you’re the final sign-off. In every case, we expect your agent to talk you through the staging before it’s booked, and for you to have seen the quote and agreed to it. If anything about the scope, the cost or the hire period isn’t clear, ask before install day, not after.
If you ever receive a staging invoice you weren’t expecting, talk to your agent first, then contact the staging company directly so it can be sorted out.
The agent’s involvement is about timing. They know when the photographer is booked, when the first open home is and when the listing goes live, which is why a lot of agents prefer to organise the styling themselves. That coordination is useful. It doesn’t change who the client is.

Payment options vary between staging companies, so check what yours offers. Here’s how it works at Foxy. There are three ways to pay.
- Pay upfront. The full amount is paid before install.
- Stage now, pay later. You pay a 20% deposit before install, and the balance is due 30 days after. That gives your home a month on the market before the rest of the invoice lands.
- Pay at settlement through a provider. A third-party company pays us upfront, and you repay them when your property settles. More on this below.

Not through Foxy directly. We don’t offer a pay-at-settlement option ourselves.
There are providers that do. Campaign Agent is one. They pay us upfront on your behalf, and you settle up with them when the sale settles. These services are usually accessed through your agent, so the first step is asking whether their office uses one.
Before you sign up, check the provider’s fees, and what happens if the sale is delayed or doesn’t go ahead. Those terms are set by the provider, not by us.

Our standard hire period is eight weeks from install (4 weeks paid + 4 weeks free). If your campaign needs longer, the hire can be extended.
The extension fee is set out in our terms before you commit, so you know the cost of running longer before the furniture goes in. It’s worth reading that section alongside your payment option, particularly if you’re using stage now, pay later or a settlement provider.

- How long the hire period runs, and the extension fee if you need more time.
- Which payment option you’re using, and the date each amount is due.
- If you’re using a settlement provider, their fees and what happens if the sale falls through.
- Who your day-to-day contact will be: you, your agent, or both.

The seller pays for home staging, including when the agent organises it. At Foxy, you can pay upfront, split it into a 20% deposit and a balance 30 days later, or ask your agent about a provider that lets you pay at settlement.
If you’d like to talk it through for your home, book a complimentary consultation. A Foxy stylist meets you at the property, walks through what your buyers need to see, and you get a plan and a full quote back within 24 business hours.
