Finding Focus, Building Teams, and Embracing Change in Home Staging
When you’re running a business, or even just selling a home, it’s easy to feel pulled in a hundred different directions. There’s always something new to chase, a trend to keep up with, or another task on the to-do list. We’ve been reflecting on what really matters when it comes to growing a business, supporting your team, and adapting to an industry that’s constantly changing.

One of the biggest lessons is learning to focus. With so many things competing for attention, it’s tempting to try to do it all. But the real progress comes from stepping back and asking: what’s going to make the biggest difference? Whether you’re running a staging business or preparing a property for sale, choosing the right priorities gets you further than juggling everything at once.

It’s not the projects that make a business strong – it’s the people. Surrounding yourself with the right team, creating a positive culture, and protecting that culture as you grow is key. Having the right leaders in place means you don’t have to carry everything yourself. And as tough as it can be, letting go of the wrong fit is just as important as welcoming the right one.

When we look back on the highlights, it’s not always the big properties that stand out. It’s the behind-the-scenes achievements, like setting up our warehouse, or the team events that bring everyone together. Success isn’t just measured in sales or square metres styled — it’s the feeling of building something bigger than yourself, with people you enjoy working alongside.

No one has all the answers, and that’s okay. Staying open to new ideas, listening to podcasts, reading, and constantly learning keeps things fresh. At the same time, when opportunities come up, it’s often better to say yes and figure it out than to wait for the ‘perfect’ time. And if something’s not right? Trust your gut and say no.

Technology is moving fast, and tools like AI are already starting to influence how we work. Instead of fearing it, it’s about staying curious and ready to adapt. The staging and real estate industries are especially open to change, so being proactive now will pay off in the long run.

At the end of the day, whether you’re a seller, an agent, or a fellow staging business, the lessons are the same: focus on what matters, invest in people, celebrate the wins that don’t always show up on paper, and stay open to change.
